Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

The Multi Cultural Community Centre (MCCC) was nominated in 2019 for the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen's coronation. It is the MBE for volunteer groups.
A reception was hosted at Hertfordshire County Council in Hertford on Tuesday 9 April for the 5 nominated organisations from Hertfordshire. The MCCC Trustees were warmly welcomed by the Vice-Chairman of Hertfordshire County Council, William Wyatt-Lowe , the Lord-Lieutenant Robert Voss CBE and several Deputy Lieutenants. The five nominated organisations were briefly introduced and invited to take a photo with the Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenant. The rest of the afternoon was spent networking enjoying delicious scones with clotted cream and strawberry and a cup of tea.
